Will this be ok to eat?

I have some individual packs of houmous in the fridge, use by date is today, 18th. I am loathe to waste them and wondered if they are likely to be OK if I send one with DS in his lunch box tomorrow?

I don't want to make him ill, but can't help but feel they're ridiculously over cautious about use by dates.

Yes, it will be fine.

Although you might want to decant it into another pot - I have heard of over-zealous dinner ladies 'confiscating' food that is past it's sell by date Hmm.

Thankyou!

Gosh about the dinner police ladies. Shock

I have just checked with DS, who is 12 and they don't police lunches at his school, so I think he'll be safe.
