I've invited 6 adults and their kids for the day next week. There will be about 15 kids and 7 women. I'm just going to do hot dogs ( with naice sausages) followed by ice cream in cones for kids. Will bake a cake for adult dessert. I need a low effort lunch. Would get lots of deli bits but in my experience it ends up costing £££ and we've hosted so many things lately I'm trying to keep a check on the shopping budget.
Am up for a make ahead thing that I could whip out of the oven or cheapish cold stuff.

gammon with pineapple salsa, salad and pittas is soooo lovely!

Yes v.good homemade coleslaw. Will do that. Will def do posh hot dogs, coleslaw, wedges and nice onions.
Does the mix of Greek yog and mayo make it creamy? I find when I just do mayo it tastes like cheaper shop coleslaw rather than the creamy deli type

M&S do "posh hotdogs" they are massive in packs of 6, 3 packs for £10. They are lush.

The addition of thick greek yog. makes coleslaw less oily and less watery - if I haven't made my own mayo, I use that Delouis (or whatever it's called) fresh stuff in a tub.

this is very nice, looks impressive and technically takes 30 mins (more like 40 but it's not hard).
