Cabbage and Ribs

As part of our new healthy eating regime DH wants bacon ribs with cabbage.

I have bought the ribs and cabbage but have never made this, apparantely his nan used to make it him all the time.

I havent the foggiest..........

Bring the ribs to the boil in a pot of water and then drain it off and discard the water. fill the pot again and boil the ribs for about an hour, after about 45 minutes throw in the chopped up cabbage.

I reckon that's what he means(ie the way his granny cooked it) but it does sound fairly yuk to me.

I would boil the ribs and drain and then I would coat them in a tomatoe based barbecue sauce and bake them in the oven under foil, taking the foil off for the last 10 minutes.
I would stirfry the cabbage with garlic, soy and ginger.
