My DS1 loves apples but likes them cut at the moment because of a loose tooth and gap next to it but he wont eat it from his lunch box because it goes brown.
Is there a way to stop them going brown?

There is also a suggestion to add some orange juice to apples etc

Depends on the type of apple to a certain extent - I think the really crispy ones stay white longer than the others.

But you could put some grapes in the lunch box, or a banana?

chloesmama · 13/06/2006 23:21

i froze some grapes btw and they were delish, so not sure how long they would last if you could freeze them before-hand

ds has chopped apple every day and has never complained about them being brown, he usually has Galas.

I soak them in apple or orange juice and put them in a little tub.

Seem to be fine if cut up in the morning and put straight into a little airtight container. Ds1 has a cooler pack lunch box and ds2's lunch goes into the fridge at kindy - don't know if that makes a difference.
