Hi my best friend is going into hospital next week to be induced and I want to cook her some meals that I can freeze for her so she has them in her freezer once the baby comes. I am thinking of doing lasagne, shepherds pie, Bolognese, quiche that sort of thing as I know when I had my dc I had no time to cook 'proper' meals at first.
Do you suggest I totally cook all the meals before freezing them so then her and her dh can just defrost and reheat? Or should I get the lasagne and shepherds pie to the finishing off in the oven and then freeze so they have to defrost then finish off cooking iyswim? Don't want to give them food poisoning lol! Thanks for the advice x

What a lovely friend you are! You can actually do either, so could assemble the lasagne and shepherds pie to a state before they go in the oven, then your friend could just cook them either from frozen for longer or defrost and cook as normal, or you could cook beforehand and they can then reheat either from frozen or defrosted. I normally cook and then reheat and maybe this might be easier for your friend when she has other things to worry about! I am sure whatever you do they will be very grateful - what a kind person you are!

Casseroles are great for this. You can tip into a pan and reheat. I do this regularly and have a ready supply in the freezer for easy meals.
Beef stews of various flavours.
Pork goulash
Pork in satay type sauce
Chilli
