What cake to bake?

I'm in a cake making mood. What cake shall I make?

I made a lovely Nigel Slater's caraway seed cake last week, yum.

Any recipes to share?

I've made this pear and almond cake www.mumsnet.com/Recipes/i/3730-Pear-and-almond-tart (it's not a tart, despite the name) dozens of times and it's divine, especially with crème fraîche on the side.

Try it with apples or apricots if you haven't pears to hand. Add dates into the caramelised mixture if you like.
