This is so annoying!!!

I bought some soya cheese for my son to have pizza (dairy allergy) but the cheese does bugger all it's exactly how it was when I put it on the pizza base just a bit warm!

Anyone recommend a good soya cheese or any other dairy free cheese that will melt?

My nephew has a dairy allergy - we make him pizza without cheese, use lots of extra virgin olive oil for flavour.

soya cheese = work of the devil.

DD never really got on with cheese, having been allergic since birth she never really missed the taste of it. We found a couple of soft cheeses (similar to philadelphia) in health food shops that tasted ok to us www.tofutti.com and Tesco do a cheese sauce equivalent that's ok called free and easy.

Try www.vegusto.co.uk/shop/ or other vegan shops?

I use redwoods soya free cheese or it's melting mozzarella which is a bit tasteless but does melt. If you google mouthwatering vegan, the woman has a book with dairy free cheese recipes which look amazing and do melt. Hope this helps a bit.

Also check out Alpro Yoghurts and caramel, chocolate and vanilla pots (vanilla heated up makes a good custard sub) and Tesco's own brand creme caramel which is also dairy free. Swedish Glace ice cream is AMAZING!

I disagree with it not being as tasty, i think your tastebuds just have to get used to a different taste.

The only really decent fake cheese is Vegusto. It really is delicious. They do a special version which melts for pizzas etc.

FWIW I think tofutti is rank as is Tesco's own fake cheese which is weirdly sweet. I used to be really into cheese but have had to give up dairy for health reasons. AFAIC, Vegusto is the only one which tastes really nice.
