After a GP's health check yesterday we need to drastically reduce the fat in DH's our diet.
We mainly cook from scratch but need to completely revamp our recipe selection and I need to stop making copious cakes/biscuits/ice-cream for a while :(

All ideas are welcome to prove to me us that this will be fun, creative and tasty.
TIA

Sue Kreitzman's low-fat recipe books always have beautiful looking food. Not sure if they are still in print now but try your library.

A nice dessert I've made this week: banana (super-ripe for sweetness) and strawberry, yoghurt smoothie. Ok it's not that creative but it tasted like a treat.

Good luck!

Thank you, will look it up in the library this week.

Am also checking out as many sorbet recipes in my ice-cream book as I can find :)

And what about exploring the uses of gelatin!

I read the thread about your DH's cholesterol. It's hereditary in our family and I am conscious of our diet and exercise.

I like buying fruit & veg I really love : like raspberries right now and new potatoes, in the autumn braeburn and cox's apples and comice pears, then in spring asparagus. To me they are treats too. British Victoria plums will be along shortly!

Ooo, yes, good idea, I do like a jelly. Might even get the DC eating more fruit which would be a bonus :)
