I accidentally bought a whole salmon.

i've chopped it into slices about and inch wide so i have lots of pieces with the bit of its body each side and a piece of spine in the middle - does that make?

i've frozen some, but i'd like to cook some tonight for dinner

has anyone got any advice on how best to cook them?

much appreciated, i'm a rubbish cook and this is all a bit adventurous for me

At the simplest end of the scale, yesterday I put a salmon fillet in a dish, poured over some sweet chilli sauce and microwaved it on full for 2 minutes. It was lovely with a salad!

wrap them loosely in foil with a knob of butter, bit of seasalt if you fancy. bake in the oven for 10 minutes or so, until the flesh has all turned opaque. serve with new potatoes and salad. yum. Smile

You can put them in dish in the oven, splash odd olive oil and cook for about 15 mins

Feeling more adventurous
You can either add some teriyaki sauce over it and bake

Or

A favourite of ours is to crumble some feta on top, bit of olive oil, if you have some fresh mint leaves wash a few and add, squeeze of lemon if you have and bake.... If I do this I usually put in a dish and wrap in tinfoil.
Salmon is so easy to cook, and delicious!

'bit of its body each side' - it was gutted wasn't it? Shock

A dollop of philly on top then baked is rather nice

I bake in foil with soy sauce and chilli flakes

Ha yes praise The Lord it was gutted. I would really have been stumped it it wasn't. It did have fins though

Thank you for these wonderful suggestions. If I were to bake it in foil at what temperature would that be?

I have new pots. I have salad. I have mint! I may be about to make an Actual Meal
