What can I cook in a steamer??

So, in a moment of Amazon madness I've purchased a steamer. I don't want to waste it by just steaming carrots though, can anyone enlighten me as to what I can cook in it? Or suggest any recipes?

Thanks in advance! Grin

any veg you'd usually boil, e.g. broccoli, sweet potato, beans, squash, asparagus, leeks, cabbage, parsnips, ...

Salmon with some dill and butter, chicken filled with cheese/mushrooms wrapped in ham/bacon-both in kitchen foil.

Any meat/fish on a foil parcel will cook alongside your veg. Does it have a rice bowl?

Oooh so it has more potential than I thought! It does have a rice bowl Grin

A nice suet 'pudden' Grin

Seriously though, you can steam all sorts of puddings like lemon sponge, sticky toffee, orange marmalade, treacle, spotted dick, plus savoury dishes like leek and mushroom suet crust, steak and kidney, bacon roly poly. Dumplings cook well in a steamer and tend to be fluffier than those cooked in with the casserole or stew).
