Eton Mess

I'm going to a BBQ this weekend and offered to take something for pudding. I'd like to take Eton mess as it is easy and DD will enjoy picking the strawberries, but the BBQ is an hour away and I'm worried the meringue will go soggy. Can any one advise (or suggest and alternative!) thanks

Don't put the meringue in until you get there.

If its an hour away the whipped cream is going to wilt a bit too. Take all the bits and put it together when you arrive.
