how do you make cake pops

i have some cake i need to use up so thought i might make cake pops. But i've never had them so am not really sure what to do. I know you mix cake and frosting together but is frosting just American for butter icing or is it different? And what do you dip them in, chocolate?

Yes, you take perfectly good cake and mash it up with buttercream, then dip in chocolate and assorted Stuff.

I'd rather eat the cake.

I think I'm going to have to make cake pops some day, getting some left over cake might be difficult...

Life is far too short for messing about with cake pops.

Get a cake pop maker from Lakeland and it makes little spherical cakes - much nicer, less faff, and less sweet than the mashed up cakes ones.

Just make a cake.
