Cupcakes for DH's birthday

He doesn't like fruit at all, I'm a big fan of The Hummingbird Bakery recipes.
Anyone got any thoughts for flavours?

My DH siad that the red velvet cake that i made was the best cake he'd ever had

Or Guinness cupcakes? I haven't tried these ones but have cooked cakes with beetroot before.

I was considering inventing some cappuccino ale cupcakes - he's quite the real ale fiend - thanks for reminding me!

Lavender cupcakes are delicious - I put lavender flowers in with granulated sugar & leave for a while, then blitz the whole lot to make lavender-caster-sugar. The taste/scent is quite subtle but they always go very well.
