Got half a bag of pecan nuts, no one in the house likes them on their own and can't think of what to do with them! Any ideas?

Iirc The Hummingbird Bakery have a recipe for either muffins or cupcakes which uses them.
What about lightly toasting then crushing them to add to a cheesecake base?

Banana, pecan and chocolate bread from Wahaca? Yummy!

Ooh that bread sounds lovely! Do you know of a recipe?

Will they be eaten if you spice them up? Half teaspoon each of cayenne pepper and smoked paprika, tiny drizzle of honey, sprinkle with salt, bake as a single layer on oven tray at 150C for 15 minutes?

If you toast them, they go nicely with banana, cream cheese and honey/sugar as a toast or bagel topping.

Add them to muesli, granola?

Cantdothisagain · 17/06/2013 22:32

The banana bread is from Thomasina Miers Wahaca. A quick google can't see the recipe online but if you google it you will see a recipe on muesli lover blog which looks like the same recipe - it's attributed to Thomasina - but with walnuts instead. Use that and sub the walnuts with pecans and I think it will be the Wahaca recipe. I'll check in the book tomorrow though.
