Wasn't sure where to put this,so have also put it in the party section tooBlush.
DS will be one in a few weeks and I thought I'd attempt my first ever cake, but I need to find a cake tin first, preferably online.
Any ideas,please?

TIASmile.

One \link{http://www.decuisine.co.uk/cookshop/bakeware/number-cake-tins.html?id=a7616ecaf7048e1dbf4b261dbf78c388.1148982311&referal=/cookshop/bakeware/bakeware_for_cakes.html\here} - not cheap though!

JackieNo · 30/05/2006 10:52

Mind you, it looks like the cheapest one I can find - others seem to be £25 and £30Shock.

Bubbaloo · 30/05/2006 10:55

Thanks-maybe I'm better off buying a photo cake from Tesco for only £8 Grin.

You could always get a plain one and use coloured ready rolled fondant to cut out the 1 and stick on with warmed apricot jam or butter icing . Add other ready made decorations and hey presto !

Thanks LIZS-that's a great idea but I'm no cake expert,so might be a bit tricky.Certainly bear it in mind thoughSmile.

you can usually hire cake tins from nice bakers/cake shops - a few pounds for a week or something.
Where do you live?

Bubbaloo · 30/05/2006 11:20

Thanks Tommy.I live in EssexSmile.

Don't know Essex at all Grin but I'm sure a quick look through the Yellow pages at cake decorators or something might find you something. I know of 2 shops that hire out tins within walking distance so they can't be that unusual!
