Could someone help me with my pulled pork recipe?

It says butterfly a pork shoulder joint, then rub with spices etc. The only thing is I can't get the crackling/ skin off. So it's crackling side down with the spices rubbed on top. Do you think this will be ok, or when it is partially cooked, should I take the crackling off!

I'd take the crackling out for sure before you pull it - can't see the harm in having it in there though until then.

It's pulled pork, fatty is gooood. Yep to taking the skin off once it's cooked, then shred it and return to the oven uncovered for 15 minutes to get some crispy bits.

I don't like fatty pulled pork, it's why I only use tenderloin for it, but I think that's more personal taste as others certainly don't mind it fatty!

It was delicious! The skin and fat just fell off! However my recipe with onion, garlic and coke was much simpler, and just as nice!

It was a pork shoulder, and I cooked it in the slow cooker in a similar way to gammon. You need to use full fat coke! If you do a search, there will be loads of mumsnet recipes!

This a favourite in our house! I use leg joint of pork (usually on offer), i rub some hoisin sauce on it put it in slow cooker on low for 8 hours. Pulls apart lovely / serve with coleslaw in a bap. I always add a bit more hoisin sauce or BBQ sauce once in the bap - delicious!
