Just put my foot down and stopped using a bottle for my 2 yr old ds and he has stopped drinking milk for 2 weeks. He used to drink at least 14oz a day. I have tried all of these different cups and beakers and nothing has worked! Thinking of going back to the bottle but don't want to back down. Maybe we're being as stbborn as each other!

Both my ds's drink on average about 16floz of milk a day from beakers or cups/mugs. They love it and as long as they do I'm not going to stop them. Mind you I love cold milk too :o As long as they have a good varied diet which includes calcium then I wouldn't worry too much. There's a big push here in the US to get everyone drinking more milk - especially women of a certain age (which includes me) to help protect bone density. So I know I'm doing okay as the Doctor was most impressed last week. But they are on 2% fat now not full fat.

DS is 2.5 and I have no idea how much milk he drinks. A beaker before bed and some during the day.

DS is just 2 and still has 8oz of milk out of a bottle before bedtime. This is the only bottle he has during the day and has done for the last year. I don't see a problem with it if it gets him to drink milk as long as they are not bottles all the time. He takes all other drinks out of cups/beakers etc just his night-time bottle. I'm happy to keep it going as long as he wants within reason obviously!

Ds has a cup of milk before bed, but doesn;t always drink it all, and I think he sometimes has it at nursery mid-morning. he occasionally asks for it at other times.

He never had a bottle.
