I bought some from our local Asian store. The packaging is mainly in Korean (I think). It's called 'salad seaweed' and the only instructions are to soak it for ten. Invites in cold water then eat.
I assumed it was arame, which I usually buy in the small strands and soak before dressing it in umboshi dressing.
This stuff looks like proper seaweed, all whispy, but some is purple (not so alarming) but there is also some weird clear stuff in there - a bit like plastic but chopped up to roughly the same size of the seaweed.
What the hell is it? Is it some sort of packaging to keep it dry? I picked out the clearish stuff - have I thrown out half the seaweed?
