Lunchbox ideas

Does anyone have any interesting lunchbox ideas to share? In particular my son tells me of a friend who takes things in a flask to keep hot, I have thought of some pasta in a tomato sauce or some soup. Any other ideas welcome, am also trying to keep costs down so keen to share cost effective tips/recipes. Many thanks

I've not yet reached the stage of having to think of exciting lunch boxes yet, but I'm on Pinterest and regularly see ideas pop up on there Smile

My DS is not keen on sandwiches. Sometimes I give her some crackers (dry) with a little tupperware of butter, or cream cheese, or grated cheese and she constructs her own. Also wraps instead of bread go down well. Carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, breadsticks with humus and some olives and cherry tomatoes. I make popcorn (microwave) and fill a few ziplock bags instead of crisps. I also make jelly in a few small tupperwares (1 portion size) and add chopped fruit.

Those are my little diva's darling's current favourites!

I've seen children with baked beans or tinned spaghetti in flasks, you can get little dish ones (definitely in my wilkinsons) so could put a whole range if cooked lunch items in

Thanks for your ideas so far. I need to get one of those flasks but we don't have a Wilkinson's wonder where else would have one. There is a Lakeland would that have one perhaps. Thanks again

I got a flask for DS1 but we didn't use it much.

Just Bento. Wink For the sandwich-averse. I love it. Works for meals at home too.

I give the dcs leftovers - curry, stews, pasta in their flask, I freeze leftovers. I make a sausage, tomato and puy lentil casserole in the morning - sometimes use bacon or whatever's in the fridge. Today they've got chicken legs I roasted this morning, yesterday leftover pork tenderloin. I keep a jar of pesto in the cupboard for emergencies when I can't just use up whatever's in the fridge.
