revivify dry bolognese

DH made some bolognese last night and while I'm suitably grateful, it has to be said that it's a tad dry...what shall I add ?

Tinned tomatoes, mushrooms and fresh herbs.

Some hot stock, with some tomato purée dissolved in it, and a splash of red wine?

depends how much toms he used - I' d consider water if it's already v.tomatoey with stok cube if needs more flavour
