Have lots of minced beef in the freezer, what can I make that's not spag bog/lasagne or shepherds pie? I'm in need of inspiration!

meatballs? posh burgers stuffed with lots of extras?

nemno · 03/06/2013 13:35

Bobotie. I keep meaning to try it as folk I know rave about it. I know Nigella and www.mumsnet.com/Recipes/i/2384-Bobotie-traditional-South-African-dish have a recipe.

Meatballs or enchiladas

Little burgers spiced with chilli and ginger and served with rice and cucumber, yoghurt and mint.

Cook with thai flavours like lime, lemongrass, chilli, mint and toss with warm noodles, red onion, beansprouts and toasted peanuts

Mix with cooked rice, garlic, parsley and grated parmesan and stuff peppers and roast them

We love chilli, stuffed marrow and peppers, posh burgers, beef and potato pie.

Two of my favourites:

Savoury mince pancakes - make pancakes and set aside. Brown mince, add onion carrot and stock etc. Make a very thick gravy, wrap up pancakes. Put in a dish, sprinkle a little cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Bake at 180c for 15 mins.

Curry mince: Brown mince, fry onions as above. Add some curry paste (Tikka Masala works) and some water or stock. Simmer for a bit, serve on rice. Add coriander.

Oh, number 3, homemade burgers! Gorgeous Smile

Fry mince, onion, veg (peppers/carrots/whatever you fancy) with moroccan type spices, chick peas and apricots. Then stir in some cooked rice. Maybe some tinned tomatoes/tomato puree if you like it wetter.
Or as above but with Mexican spices and kidney beans.
Sorry, my recipes aren't very specific!!
