Quality hand mixer with dough hooks?

We can't really afford a bread maker (though I'm lusting after the panasonic 2501 that people love), much less a stand mixer chef/kitchenaid etc, so I'm looking at hand mixers with dough hooks. But I worry about their ability to cope with kneading dough three or four times a week over the longer term. I like the look of the kmix hand but does anyone have any other recommendations?

Dough can get quite stiff when kneading, and I would think you would need incredibly strong wrists to hold a hand mixer that was doing the kneading for you. It would probably be easier to knead by hand.

I have the k mix which DP uses for his bread making - it's great and works brilliantly but it can get heavy when holding for a while

I have this one and it is perfect for mixing bread dough. Quite frankly it isn't worth buying a hand mixer for bread dough - you might as well knead it yourself.

Thanks all. I'm coming to the conclusion that we'd be better off saving for a breadmaker rather than going for a hand mixer, and given that I was coming from a "don't really mind kneading by hand but it'd be nice if I didn't have to" position, I think we'll just stick with it for now.
