More summery breakfast ideas...

My toddler (14mo) and I have a different breakfast together each morning of the week but the menu was devised in winter and I'm wondering how to change it so its more summery.

Our weekly menu is:

Mon - toast with peanut butter for DS and jam for me. Plus fruit.
Tues - raspberry yoghurt and more fruit for DS (usually a banana)
Wed - weetabix with hot milk plus fruit afterwards
Thu- porridge with fruit after
Fri - pancakes either lemon and blueberry or apple/pear and cinnamon
Sat - pain au chocolat (prepared by daddy) and fruit
Sun - is changeable but will often be waffles, or eggy bread, cooked breakfast plus fruit!

I'm feeling the weetabix with hot milk and porridge are a bit wintery. Does anyone have any toddler friendly ideas?

Wow you're good to do different things every day! I normally make mine have cereal every day - they are at school though so have time constraints! Half term and weekends are more varied! All sounds lovely and healthy, for summer could you have cereal with cold milk instead of hot or porridge with natural yogurt and fruit? Boiled eggs? You've inspired me to be a bit more adventurous!

I like summer porridge when it's warm.

You soak oats in milk over night, with fruit for flavour. It's really yummy with vanilla soya milk, or you can add vanilla essence. I forget the exact quantities but I usually eyeball about 3/4 of a jar with oats then fill it with milk. It works well with raspberries and honey, and you can sprinkle with nuts in the morning.

I must just add that I have no DC so no idea if it's toddler friendly! Sorry!

My DS is quite partial to scrambled egg in the morning or soft boil egg with soldiers.

Thanks for the ideas!

I'm only able to do the different breakfasts cos we never have to be anywhere until 9.30am - when I go back to work full time (hopefully soon) it'll all go out the window!

I will try the summer porridge, Hiding, it sounds perfectly toddler friendly.

Yes, I will try the scrambled eggs for breakfast - he has them once a week for lunch or tea but I can always think of something else then (like an omelette Smile).

Hi op I am nicking some of your ideas and I will share mine.
This is what DS has had last week.
Mon- peanut butter and banana on toast
Tue- homemade muesli with grated apple
Wed- fruit salad with yogurt
Thur- blueberry pancakes
Friday- weetabix with banana and raisins
Sat- croissants with strawberries
Sunday- eggy bread and some cooked cherry tomatoes

And to be honest I normally follow that pattern but change a ingredient each day.
