Marinade for whole chickens

I am cooking 2 whole chickens for a party, need one or two nice marinades, that will flavour the chicken all the way through, iykwim?

I'm new to all this cooking thing

Jamie Oliver's Empire Roast chicken on the ch4 website is delicious, especially the gravy.

Sesame Roast Chicken
1.6kg chicken
3tbsp sesame oil
3tbsp soy sauce
2-3tsp root ginger grated
1tsp sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 200c. Mix sesame oil, soy sauce and ginger and rub half inside and over the chicken
Roast breast down in oven for 45min. Turn breast up and brush with more mixture. Roast for 20
minutes.
Brush over remaining soy mixture, sprinkle with sesame seeds then roast for 25minutes or until
cooked. Reduce heat to 180c if chicken is browning too fast.
