help - oven cooked pork chops?!?

i forgot my grill is broken and bought chops for sunday dinner

can i oven cook them? have never done anything other than grill them plain & don't really know what else there is to do with them

I'd seal them by frying first then oven. They'll probably be juicier than grilled.

Oven cooked in a marinade works quite well

any idea what sort of marinade?

how long should i cook for?

i'm guessing somewhere around half an hour on 180ºC.....no idea really though

My DM has cooked them in orange juice with sliced onions for years, think it was in a late 70s/early 80s M&S cookbook. Last weekend we had them in cider with chopped leeks and apples, yum.

Half an hour sounds good to me, DM has a habit of cooking them much longer...

I always cook pork chops in the oven.
Cook them for about half an hour on one side, then turn them over, put a spoonful of apple sauce on them and cover with grated cheese.
Lovely!

right i'll put it to the vote tomorrow & see what dp and the dd's fancy.

Pork chops
apple sauce
stuffing mix
potatoes

Put thin slices of potato in the bottom of a baking dish with salt pepper and a bit of oil to stop them sticking.

Put chops on top.

Cover the top of the chops with apple sauce.

Cover the apple sauce with stuffing made from a packet.

The apple will caramelise the potatoes.

Pork chops are really good in the oven with marmalade. Just literally cover the chops with marmalade and you're done. Gives a really nice sweet & sticky sauce.

You can't go wrong with pork and apples but this is also very good - pork chops with creme fraiche and mushrooms, Delia's recipe.

My mum used to braise pork chops in gravy with onions and chunky carrots - they were fantastic!

Dust with flour, dip in beaten egg and then roll in dry Paxo sage and onion stuffing mix and bake for about 40 mins - mmmmmm!

Just a boring one from me - I mostly make gravy and slow cook them in the oven. They are nice.

I am new at cooking at 68 having lost my mother in 2012. I have a pork chop which I would like well done plus some aunty Bessie's roasters and some stuffing with tinned boiled potatoes and tinned carrots with garden peas and gravy. what temp in c and how long do I cook for please. I also have a lamb chop which I will use on Thursday.
