Madeira cake with fillings - does this sound feasible?

Because of some items in my fridge at the moment, I was thinking of baking this cake which is loosely based on one I saw being made on a TV show yesterday.

I was thinking of making a Madeira mix, putting half the mix in a cake tin, then placing blueberries and dollops of lemon curd on top then putting the rest of the Madeira mix on top of this, then baking.

Any thoughts?

PS I hate almonds so can't do this as a bakewll mix.
