Im feeling a bit down in the dumps and wanted to cheer myself up with some nice comfort food.

What are your favourites?

sorry you're feeling down.... this "magic chocolate pudding" is dead simple and very comforting.... looks crap when you put it in the dish but it creates a chocolate fudge- like cake in a sauce when it bakes

Mine has to be a chip and mushy pea sandwich. Perhaps not quite what you are after Grin

Cook yellow lentils. While they're doing, put your feet up with a cup of tea then towards the end of the cooking time, fry an onion then add curry leaves, cumin, chilli and mustard seeds. Add to the cooked lentils, then add coconut milk and cook for another couple of minutes. Tastes utterly indulgent and creamy. We eat it loads in winter.

Keema muttar (curry lamb mince with peas)

A big bowl of white rice, spinach and butter stirred through, topped with chili garlic sauce.

Yes to dhal.

Heinz tomato soup and a cheese toastie.

Big baked potato with cheese and coleslaw.

Rice pudding - just bung it in the oven and ignore iy, then go back later to creamy, comforting gorgeousness.

Microwave treacle sponge.

Bowl of pasta pesto with extra parmesan.

Yorkshire puddings and jam.

Fresh homemade egg mayo sandwiches. Heaven.

Or poached egg on super noodles (peversly chicken flavour)

pasta (caesarce is my favourite shape) with and onion and garlic cream based sauce.

Fish finger sandwiches

Leftover roast lamb and roast veg mixed into cous cous.

asparagus dipped in boiled egg.

I had Bikerun's Fishfinger buttie- haddock fish fingers on ketchup smeared bloomer seasoned with salt and vinegar.
I'm making the Dahl mentioned soon too.
Thank you for the great suggestions, things I had completely forgotten about like rice pudding for example

Jacket spud with cheese, white pepper and butter
Chip butty
White chocolate buttons from the freezer. Once they've lost their snap they're not as nice.
