Fishcakes without eggs?

I have a tin of salmon and potatoes and want to make fishcakes for the kids for tea, but have no eggs left. Could I use milk to bind? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

if you made a thick white sauce I think that might work better.

my method - heat milk in saucepan, add butter and wait for it to melt. then add flour spoon by spoon and whisk/stir vigorously to avoid lumps of flour. then reduce heat and stir continously.
when it is bubbling you are done, if it at that point it is too runny you can add more flour and heat for a few more minutes.
if you add grated cheese it will be even sticker.

you will only need a few spoonfuls to mix with fishcake ingredients, freeze the rest.

I'm now hungry for fishcakes! Grin

Delia's recipe uses Mayo

Thank you! I tried a bit of mayo - didn't need much and they stayed together :)
