I am really craving a cookie, I'm 25 weeks pregnant and I need one.

I only have the stuff in my cupboard, I don't have brown sugar.

Please help!

They really are! They come out gooey and chewy and awesome! I've only ever made them two at a time for dessert and they get guzzled up warm so no idea what they 'set' like!

KatoPotato · 13/04/2013 17:34

Eff it. I'm going on a smarties mission!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 13/04/2013 17:34

Just remembered another recipe:

125g softened butter
125g caster sugar
75g soft brown sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
135g plain flour
1tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp baking powder
1/2tsp bicarb of soda
85g oats
250g chocolate chips

Put 2 tbsp of sugar in a separate bowl. Mix butter, sugars, vanilla and egg until smooth. Add flour, cinnamon, baking powder, bicarb and mix well. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Take a tablespoon of mixture and form into a ball. Dip one side in the sugar and place sugar side up on a greased baking sheet. Press down to flatten. Bake at 190 C/375 F/gas 5 for 5-10 mins until golden.

Lovely!!

I need to convince DP to get me flour and sugar...

Can I just use self raising flour and miss out the baking powder etc?

These banana cookies are rather nice & don't need any sugar. You could add chocolate chips. They are soft cookies, best to eat within a day or two of making them.

3 ripe bananas
180g chopped pitted dates, raisins or other dried fruit
160g /1 cup rolled oats
80ml sunflower oil / melted butter
1 tsp vanilla/ almond extract

preheat oven to 180°c /350°f / gas 4.
Line 2 baking trays with silicone liners or greased baking paper.
Mash bananas in a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients & mix well. Leave to stand for a few minutes to firm up a bit.
Place teaspoons of the mixture on the baking tray & flatten with the back of the spoon. Bake for 15-20 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

No joke I'm going to asda Bishopbriggs!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 13/04/2013 17:44

I don't have bananas or oats atm. :(

Thank you for all these recipes though, I am sure they will all be put to good use this week!

Surely plain plus baking makes self raising? You'll be fine! I'm justifying my trip to but smarties by putting on my running gear and running there! Haha

KatoPotato · 13/04/2013 17:46

But running with smarties will make an almighty d

KatoPotato · 13/04/2013 17:46

Din

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 13/04/2013 17:47

That is a brilliant idea btw! Guilt free cookies.

And yes, you're right about the self raising.
