Anyone's kids using mobile food games and cooking apps?

I want to blog about about mobile games (on iPhones and iPads etc) that involve food, food games and teaching kids to cook. Does anyone have kid that use these games and if so, which ones? Is it a good idea to teach kids to cook this way? Can you child use an app before they can tie their shoelaces (most can!) Interested in any feedback.

My dd has a peppa app on the iPad (I think peppa's party) and one of the activities is to make a cake - tapping to crack the egg, pour the flour, selecting icing etc. she really likes it although not as much as real baking! She's 2.5

DS loves playing free copycat cooking mama type games online and if I could find one for my phone I'm sure he'd play them on there too.

He's 4 and has only recently discovered them but they are so simple to play I'm sure he would have been able to do so from about 2. He can't tie shoelaces yet.

However I don't think it teaches them anything about real cooking at all. It's just clicking/tapping/moving things on a screen - nothing about any kind of technique and he can't read to be able to see what each ingredient actually is. I think he'd have to be a lot older to make the connection that it translates into a real recipe and want to attempt it.

I don't think it's dull - he enjoys it and he's always really proud of what he's "made". I just don't think that very young children will make a connection between these kind of games and real cooking.

OK. I understand. By playing I guess it might spark an interest in cooking that might show up later when he's older.
