I Dont know that much about food labelling, but would like to know more so lets pool our knowledge and try to get wise to the food giants so we know what is in the food that we eat.

What is Aapartamine - I know it is a sweetner, artificial but what is so bad about them.

What is malic acid?

Xanthan gum the list goes on. If you know what a ingrediant is on a label, can you share it if it isnt obvious anything at all.

I know, I'm slowly weaning him off it, my older son is really healthy by choice, he was born that way, my younger son (4) is more like me, loves sugar, I've got into bad habits with him and have to change it (he needs tooth out), sorry I'm awful.

You can buy organic squash - Rock's is a good one. It's more expensive than normal, but it makes you think twice about using it at all! As well as no sweeteners it also has no preservatives, so you need to keep it in the fridge; it will last for about 2 weeks there. If I get this, I pour half the bottle into a plastic bottle and freeze it, then use the bottle in the fridge for 2 weeks, then the bottle from the freezer for another 2 weeks. It's very tasty stuff!

Um, Roobie? Sugar enters your bloodstream. It goes to all your cells, which then use it as fuel.

I'd say a more sensible objection to aspartame is, we evolved to eat sugar, albeit in diluted form, in berries, fruit, etc. We didn't evolve to eat aspartame.

try local health food shops, as they seem to stock a good range of flavours. also do great cordials like spiced ones for christmas etc.
