Need cheap pizza bases

Anyone know where I can get cheap bases for individual pizza?

Tesco only seem to do napolina ones and they are quite pricey. I have used flatbreads in the past but tesco don't seem to sell them any more. I don't want to fo french bread pizzas or mess around with dough.

Anyone any ideas. I need about 30 of them.

I just saw these ones in tesco, about an hour ago.

Or, you could make some cheaply?

HazeltheMcWitch · 08/04/2013 15:34

Ooh, or use pitta breads?

HotCrossPun · 08/04/2013 15:36

Warburton Square-ish wraps make amazing pizza bases.

Thanks hazel.

Definitely want individual size so the first ones unsuitable.

Current options are to buy individual cheese and tomato pizzas which are about 40p each...which would save me on pizza sauce.

Or pitta breads which are about 10p each but I was worried they would be too dry and crunchy?

I sometime use part baked bread/rolls for bases.

AnimatedDad · 08/04/2013 17:16

Flour and water? Kneed, roll and then freeze.

Pitta breads make quite nice pizzas. So do naan breads. Both taste better than the horrible, rock hard Napolina ones.

How about muffins cut in half?? Might be a bit small for what you need them for though

jojane · 08/04/2013 17:32

You can also get ready rolled pizza dough in fresh section which could be cut to size

EggwiniasRevenge · 08/04/2013 22:29

Because I need them for a session I am leading with 7yo on a time restriction I really can't be handling fresh dough. I definitely need a ready made base of some sort.

the only ones I have seen in tesco chilled are either fresh dough or large 4 person numbers...
