I quite fancy making a brioche but how do you eat with it? What do you out on it?

Toasted lightly then a thin smear of jam - yum!

It's basically half way between bread and cake, so v easy to eat by itself.

And of course, there's always Nutella Smile

Toast it and eat with good quality liver pate (or foie GRAS if you feel like splurging)

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/04/2013 19:17

No idea why there are gratuitous CAPS there!!

Trazzletoes · 05/04/2013 19:28

Seriously? Pâté?

I'm on a diet and thought of brioche because I only ever ate it in France - the package stuff which is rank so thought, hey it's ok because DD will enjoy it and I really don't want to eat it.

But pâté????? I love pâté...

Brioche bread and butter pudding is amazing, there's a fantastic nigella recipe for it with marmalade (and no added butter, there's already so much in the brioche). It is so delicious.

YY to pâté with it too.

Getting hungry now Grin

Fry mushrooms in butter and garlic and then add cream and parsley and whack it on top of toasted brioche. Sweet but savoury and earthy or bloody lovely in other words.

Toasted with course pâté and caramelised onion chutney also yummy.

Make bread and butter pudding with it too.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/04/2013 19:41

Lightly toast or briefly fry in butter or griddle a thick slice of brioche. Meanwhile in a small frying pan melt a knob of butter, add sliced fruit such as banana or strawberries, toss briefly, add a bit of sugar or honey and a splodge of booze such as brandy or Triple Sec, as soon as it bubbles pile onto the slice of brioche, add cream or ice cream. Enjoy! Grin

Trazzletoes · 06/04/2013 20:08

Take brioche bun. Cut in almost half (like a pita bread). Insert one or two scoops of ice cream. Stuff in face.

= ice cream a la Siciliana, aka bloody gorgeous Grin

VikingVagine · 07/04/2013 08:32
