Cooking sausages in slow cooker in only 4 hours?

I've only got a few hours - how do I cook sausages in slow cooker? Or is it not worth it?

Brown them in the frying pan quickly, chuck in an onion, carrot,any veg, chopped,garlic , some herbs,canoftoms.. Oxo cube... Voila sausage casserole

Oh and any leftover red wine. 4 hrs fine, just put it on high,not low
