I have 20 medium eggs in my fridge (thanks to dh getting over-excited with the egg-dying lark for Easter) - I'm about to make a birthday cake that requires 6 large eggs. Obviously don't want to go out and buy large ones - how many medium ones should I use?

I'd use 7. Maybe look at the ggs and choose the larger ones too - there's usually some variation.

Ok, that's sort of what I thought, 7 sounds good. Thanks!

Grin at the over-excited egg-dying lark.

I went through 27 eggs at Easter: 10 were hard-boiled and coloured and the rest went into American style pancakes, Simnel cake, hot cross buns, kedgeree and hot cross buns..... Shock
