School holiday lunches?

AnonymousBird · 03/04/2013 11:21

We tend to do a full cooked evening meal at home in the holidays, so lunch can be a bit lighter/uncooked.

Other than sandwiches, what else is there?? Ideally very little or no cooking and quick to prepare with minimal clearing up (save that for supper time!).... I have no microwave so jacket potatoes not an option. Kids not that keen on soup either....

TIA

eggs! boiled eggs and soldiers or scrambled eggs on toast. Pasta with grated cheese is quick and easy too.

Bread less sandwiches? Like tuna and sweet corn wrapped in lettuce leaves?

Cheese, apple and crackers?

Loaded peppers- raw pepper chopped into scoop shapes and filled with cheese and ham then grilled.

Why are the potatoes out?
Scrubbed, very well stabbed, potatoes in the oven. Oven on timer to come on 90 mins before you want to eat, and enjoy your morning out.
Lovely warn jackets to top with what you want come lunch time.

Macaroni cheese is often demanded in this house, as are wraps - tho I'd class that as a sarnie.

On toast - cheese, beans, spaghetti hoops, eggs, eggs and more eggs!

We also do reheated scraps from the previous night, or bubble and squeek

Hummus with pitta, cucumber/carrot sticks and ham.

Scrambled/fried egg with cheese and bread.

Beans on toast.

Avocado, baby tomatoes, ham, cheese, bread.

Tuna and sweetcorn pasta.

Finger/picnic foods are your best friends!

We've been having:

Home made soup and fresh rolls (the kids have helped me make the rolls which is great as it doubles up as an activity in the morning!)

Toasties with cheese and ham and cheese and beans

Jacket potatoes with tuna, beans, leftover Bolognese etc

Eggy bread

Pasta with pesto, veg etc

Leftovers from the night before

Fish finger baguettes and salad
