Dd is 8 and has just made me tea and toast (have been off colour all day and just fancied it).
She can also follllow recipes for cakes and biscuits, but think thats about it.
Is she typical?

I'd say shes great -dd is 10 and at about the same stage - I worry about her with the kettle - she wouldn't make me tea.

given the ingrediants already weighed my 4 year old charge could make fairy cakes / banana cake / choc brownies all by himself!

Hes now 6 and could weigh it all now as well.

(obviously he wpuldnt be allowed to do the hot over bit, but apart from that!)

Should have said, she doesn't put the cakes in the oven nor light it... everything up to the hot bit.
And I am still a bit of a hoverer when she uses the kettle.
