What can I do?
My 16 month old son is so fussy!! He will eat ( dont get me wrong) but at lunch the only foods he will ever eat are sausages or sandwiches - and only with cheese, marmite or tuna - is it ok for him to eat the same thing every lunchtime? He even cries with pizza, egg, baked potatoes, fish fingers........etc.
Breakfast is fine he loves bready stuff and ceral and tea is ok but even then he is hard to feed with a spoon now!!

Any ideas???

Hehe - DS will only eat sausages too at the moment - and only Richmond ones - the gross ones that are made of totally processed pink sludge - have tried all sorts of gourmet sausages but no h reverts back to liking the monkey's willies ones!!!

It is tough when they are so fussy. The best suggestion I can make is to continue to offer different foods and don't always offer the foods he likes.

He seems to like salty/strong tasting foods, and from what you say quite dry food?

If it's any consolation, my DS was like this. Had very limited diet, just wouldn't try anything new, drove me mad. Sausages were the only thing he loved and I hated him having them but I got so sick of throwing food away.

He is now 4.5.

He now eats salad (loves it), all veg including cabbage. Not a great lover of red meat but will eat cold chicken and fish.

Miracles happen!

I think the secret is don't make it an issue. Put the food on the plate every day, one carrot, one tiny piece of brocolli, whatever. One day they will try it and realise it's delish! My DS did. You should see the way he eats red peppers - they are like sweets to him and I used to go nuts with him not eating any salad at all, although he always liked fruit.
