Low fat tea party ideas?

I've got 5 mums and their kids coming round on Thursday afternoon.

I would ordinarily get cake and assorted bsicuits and a cheeseboard but am watching my weight.

Anyone help with some nice and easy low fat ideas?

I was thinking of flavoured breadsticks, houmous, some fruit - but it's obvious;y not as exciting as cake or tart!

Anyone got better ideas?

Thanks

Houmous (get the reduced fat) comes in lots of flavours - particularly like the roasted red pepper one. Also try salsa, or tsaziki (sp?) raita etc made with low-fat yoghurt.
Fruit salad is more exciting than plain fruit, and jelly has no fat in (but is v sugary).
I found a recipe for no-fat fruit cake around somewhere, but it's obviously sugary too so not really any better than the normal kind.

Evil as it sounds, with that many people coming, could you get (or make) one cake and a few biscuits and press the leftovers on them as going-home presents? That way you only have to resist at teatime and there'll be no leftovers to tempt you?

that all sounds good - and sticks of veg (carrots, peppers etc) with a low-fat garlic and herb dip. Even if you make it with Greek yoghurt, it's still way better than mayo.

Also meringues are no fat at all - so perhaps those with some fruit?

I'm so weak-willed - I would probably gorge myself on cake if I got some in but think I'll have to - can't starve the other ladies (and their kids!) just because I need to lose some weight! Grin
