It needs to last at least ten days in transit and some fairly serious heat so I'm trying for things that will last a couple of weeks, sweets, cakes and biscuits, if anyone has any great ideas I'd love to hear them. So far I'm stuck on fruitcake and tablet/ fudge and trying to decide if shortbread would last the course.......

Ginger cake is pretty long lasting and gets better with age!

Hmm. Yes yes to fudge/tablet. And ginger cake/fruit cake.
Shortbread I think might crumble.
Flapjack?
Malt loaf?

I wonder if cross posting in the topic where military people/families post, might throw up some ideas? Unless you frequent there already, obvs!

gingerbread lasts months!

A solid-ish madeira would probably travel ok too.

How about Parkin? Lasts ages. Date cake stays moist.

Mmmmm ginger cake! I've just seen a recipe for that in one of my books and was wondering re life span, never lasts five minutes with me around.... Have never made malt loaf, that also an interesting thought as is Parkin! Thank you Smile
