Hi,

It's my Dad's 60th birthday and I am am cooking for about 18 people. I was thinking I would like to have a Moroccan theme and was wondering if anyone has any good recipes they would like to share? Thanks!

I can recommend this pie on the BBC Good Food site. And these flatbreads and this couscous went down well with my DC.

The only time i tried making a tagine, my DH dropped it on the floor before we could serve it Shock

Have a look at Yotam Ottolenghi's recipes on the guardian website - he is very clever in his flavour combinations.

As an example I did the following, falafels from Moro, Burnt aubergine with pomegranate - Ottolenghi's, saffron & raisin cauliflower - Ottolenghi's. Romano peppers stuffed with feta, mint, pine nuts and preserved lemon - Catherine Manson, lamb kebabs - Jamie Oliver, spicy morracan carrot salad - Ottolenghi's, sweet potato patties, Ottolenghi's, tomato & cucumber salad, pitta breads.

I am drooling reading that, snow!

Vespar, a Moroccan feast sounds like a wonderful idea. Hope it goes well! Claudia Roden's Book of Middle Eastern Food is one of my all-time favourite recipe books. She has quite a few Moroccan recipes in there, I think, and a lot of the dishes that are common across the region would also be suitable.

I cooked Moroccan Lamb with Apricots, Almonds and Mint a few weeks ago, and it was bloody lovely!

Thanks! I'll definitely be trying these out over the next few weeks!
