I want need to make a rainbow cake for DS birthday next week. And the recipe states 'sunflower spread' rather then butter.

I always butter when making cakes can I use butter instead. Will it affect the cake mixture.

I'm sure butter will work OK. Is the recipe from a dairy free book? Mary Berry always suggests Stork for baking.

Ok will try butter. I tend to use butter as I don't like the flavor of Stork.

Probably because mum always used butter.
