Had lovely choc biscuit cake in a tea shop recently and it's made me want to try making it.

Yum.

Mum used to make one with raw eggs in, which was yummy, but not very good when pregnant, or with small kids around!

Ignore the author, but this is the best I've found to date.
I use glace cherries in place of the apricots tho.

The Hairy Bikers' "Mums Know Best" Rocky Road recipe is fantastic. Don't know if it is online, but I could post it later. Basically, a packet of shortbread biscuits, a packet of marshmallows, some glacee cherries, broken up and mixed into melted mars bars. Not one for slimmers Grin .

This is my Mum's recipe, very delicious, you only need small squares Grin

4 oz butter
10 oz dark chocolate
14 oz tin condensed milk
large packet rich tea biscuits or digestive biscuits
2 oz raisins
a variety of chopped nuts
optional - 15 glace cherries chopped

  1. Crush the biscuits with a rolling pin, stir in cherries, raisins, nuts

  2. Melt together butter, condensed milk, half the chocolate

  3. Pour chocolate mixture over biscuit mix, stir well

  4. Line tin with greaseproof paper, pour mix in, put in freezer or otherwise chill 2 hours or until needed.

  5. Melt remaining chocolate and spread over cake, cut into pieces.
