Are they red or green? Green lentils make a nice salad, good with grilled meat or fish. Red lentils are better in stews.

They are red.

Can i put them in the casserole tommorow ? How much do i put in and when ???

I put a load of red lentils into soups .. they give a delicious creamy taste

just fry them with the onion for 5 minutes or so .. (about a cupfull) then make a soup on top .. eg add say carrots and stock .. then blend it all up

I'd throw a handful or two into the casserole, depending on how big the pot is. They mush up but the quantities remain vaguely the same. DH makes them into little curried patties which DS just adores.
