Food that could be posted

A friend of mine is having a tricky time atm and I'd like to send her some food.

I have, in the past, had groceries delivered but she isn't the best cook so I wanted to send something homemade.

I can think of baked goods like brownies or cookies but can anyone think of anything else a bit more substantial or interesting?

Its a lovely thought, but I suspect most cooked things (other than baking) will require keeping cool, and so struggle through the postal service.

Could you do a really careful online shop, and send e.g. something that just requires putting in the oven (can you get a prep'ed chicken, potatoes etc to have a roast dinner? - I don't tend to look too carefully at the deals).

Has she got others at home? What about a tesco meal for 4, or M&S dine in for 2 deal?

Or could you order a takeaway to be delivered to hers, and pay on card over the phone?

A take away is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I could supplement this with a brownie delivery.

She lives alone and I suspect doesn't have much energy to cook for herself so I wanted something home cooked for a change.
