Running out of lunchbox ideas!

Hey,

Just wanted some friendly advice as I seem to always be running out of lunchbox ideas for both my children and husband.
I want them to be excited about the lunch I give them and it's difficult trying to think of different lunches throughout the week. Do your family get bored too??

Any ideas? I'm open to any of them!

Thanks so much for your help!

I'm about to go back to work after having dc2 so for ds's lunchboxes and mine I'll be doing
Savoury - sandwiches/ quiche slice/ pasta pesto & cherry toms salad/ home made sausage rolls or pasties/ sticks and dips/ pesto chicken strips
sweet - yogurt/ fruit/ jelly/ muffins/ dried apricots/ fruit and nut mix

Will come back if I can think of more

What do you do normally so we don't just suggest things you already do? How old are the kids?

savouries-
pasta/rice salad
pitta pockets with lots of different fillings (usual sandwich fillings, or more unusual like kidney beans/tomato/cucumber, spiced chickpeas and salad, leftover meat from dinner etc.)
wraps
cold pizza
hummus/other dips with veg sticks (carrots, cucumber, pepper, mange tout etc etc) or pitta
rice cakes/oat cakes with separate sliced cheese etc to make their own (so you can keep oat cakes wrapped up till they open them)
pasties/samosas etc.

snacks/sweets-
fruit and yogurt
apple slices with peanut butter or cream cheese dip (you can kind of whip cream cheese with a bit of sugar or honey and add vanilla and dip fruit slices into it)
granola/muesli bars e.g. nigella's breakfast bars (make a batch they last a good while)
fruit/veg muffins e.g. pumpkin, courgette, carrot, banana (make a batch and freeze them and can throw them in frozen, they'll defrost really quickly)

ok that's about all i can think of off the top of my head. if your dh has any kitchen facilities at work he can also take leftovers, soup etc etc.

have you had a look at the Lunchbox World website yet? It has lots of tips, hints and recipe ideas, news features as well as an online shop. If you like the Lunchbox World facebook page, you'll get notifications of daily ideas and news items, or follow @lunchboxworld on twitter. They are a really friendly bunch! They even have a blog too called the Lunchbox World Blog so lots of fresh inspiration there, whatever your age - from toddlers through to adults!
