Desperately need help for breakfast ideas for 11 month old!!

My ds has always had baby porridge for breakfast but has suddenly refused it as he wants our breakfast!!!

The problem is I don't want him to have toast as too much salt so limit him to one piece a day and need to use that later in the day!

He doesn't like wetabix and although he would happily like Cheerios I am not happy with the sugar content. So all other cereals such as shreddies are out.

It also needs to be very quick as mornings are always crazy in our house getting ready for school and taking dogs for a walk

So this morning I tried porridge fingers but he doesn't like the sticky texture.

Any ideas!!!

Ready brek?

Scrambled egg? Soft fried egg? Bacon? Omlette? Pancake? Yogurt? Puffed rice from health shop? (Yuk but hey I'm trying!) fruit?

Egg easiest and quickest I'd guess

Egg in our house is less than a minute in microwave

Blueberry wheats went down well with DS at this age. Easily picked up wet or dry.

Big rice cake with banana or hummous spread on it?

What about heading to a health food shop and picking up some cornflakes without sugar or some puffed rice or quinoa. It looks like your breakfast cereal but is more healthy! We use this tactic with our daughter although she also ends up eating some toast too!

Hadn't thaought about breakfast cereal from health food shop. Will try that.

He can't have egg cos of allergies.
Can't have homous as legume allergy!

Has banana later in day and loves it but can't have for breakfast as would end up constipated with too much banana.

Loves pancakes but never have time in mornings but would work.

Thanks.

Also no yoghurt as dairy allergy.

These allergies are such a pain!!

DS used to eat raisin wheats loads, soaked in a little bit of milk. Can't quite remember the salt/sugar content but think it's pretty good as cereals go (obviosly the raisins contain sugar but don't think there's much/any added)

Make pancakes the day before and have them cold/microwaved?

Make your own bread with minimal salt? (Probably only feasible if you have a breadmaker!)

Have a bread maker in shed so could resurrect.
Will have to go and search sugar contents of cereals!!

Wll try pancakes too.

I make a 'malt' loaf using all bran which you can alter the amount of sugar in, and doesn't use eggs. It does use milk but am sure it would work with whatever milk substitute you use.
Soak 2 cups of allbran, 1 cup (or more) of dried fruit, and anywhere between 0 and 2 cups of sugar (I use 1 and its fine) in 2 cups of milk and soak for at least 1hr. Stir in 2 cups of SR flour and pour into 2 x 2lb loaf tins, bake for about 1.15hrs at 170deg.
My kids love this for breakfast and as snacks, it freezes really well and I think 1 cup of sugar in 2 loaves is actually pretty good, though like I said you can alter the sugar to suit.

Other than what has already been mentioned

Potato cakes - I made some the other day and they were delicious - just mashed potato, butter , flour and chopped chives

Crumpets - shop bought unless you feel like trying them, I never have

(How can you make pancakes without eggs?) If eggs are ok then how about banana bread?

Rice cakes or oatcakes spread with soft cheese, peanut/almondnut butter or mushed up avocado

Baked beans - maybe with just 1/2 slice of bread

Baby muesli

Chopped apple or melon.

Blueberry pancakes (shop bought)
Croissants
Corn flakes
shreddies
