Gluten & Dairy Free? ? Help

It's my DS 1st birthday on Sunday (Mother's Day ) Grin Grin I've got a little boy coming who is gluten and dairy intolerant. Lucky his mum is making my DS birthday cake so I know her little one can enjoy that but I'm struggling to come up with any ideas that might appeal to him and the other children. Basically I don't want him to feel left out.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. xSmile

what sort of things were you thinking of serving anyway? most foods have a replacement/equivalent.

My ds is only 7 months, but is being weaned gluten/dairy free due to family history.

He eats: all fruit and veg (some strawberries or blueberries might be nice for a party tea?), and the same meals as the rest of us - spag bol/curry etc (realise not exactly what you had in mind though!)

I have a good sugarless banana loaf recipe that works well gluten free if you want it (although you are already having cake, so maybe not)

there are some pretty decent gf bread alternatives if you want to make sandwiches - most supermarkets stock them. dd1 particularly likes the warburtons one at the moment.

Make meringues. You can get dairy/gluten free icecream which is yummy.

Cucumber, carrot sticks, cherry toms , grapes, sliced up egg
Rice cakes???

You could just ask the mother if she'd bring him a sandwich/cracker.

I have a dairy-free child and I am very happy to take food for him
( I know then there's no cross contamination. Sometes I prefer to take our own food.

If you search for Paleo recipes they should give you some ideas.
