looked this morning at poor dd's lunchbox containing a dairylea sandwich, dried fruit bar, squeezy fromage frais and banana. All very nice but she has been having the same lunch since she started nursery in 2004.

any suggestions? I am NOT giving her cheese strings and dairylea lunchables like her chav mates have Grin

I find the lunch box thing to be a total nightmare and sometimes think about giving up on it and going back to school lunches for DS and DD. Then I remember what they were like......! So, malt loaf? Banana bread? Chocolate filled crepes? Ham? Humzingers? Fruit flakes? Raisins? Jelly pots with fruit in? Cocktail sausages? Carrot sticks? Cucumber sticks? Pizza made on french bread? Pasta salad? My kids have had all these with varying success - they are very faddy. They get crisps at weekends, not in pack ups. Chocolate item once a week. I try to keep them eating healthily but it drives me mad!

How old is she? DS is 5 and has dinners but I send in fruit to have in the morning with his milk (Govt fruit in the afternoon). At one time or another since September I have sent in apples (whole or sliced in a pot), grapes, pears (whole or sliced), carrot sticks, cucumber, banana, sliced peach, satsuma segments, plum, blueberries (one off - bit expensive for this), strawberries, satsuma segments and we are currently going through a diced melon fad. DS goes through phases with his fruit.

What about little packs of rasins, little pot of stewed fruit, different sandwich eg cheese, chicken, ham, sliced boiled egg, cubes of cheese.

Oh looks like I am quite keen on the satsuma segments. Blush

Mine are not yet at school but if nothing else I would vary the sandwich filling - humus and grated carrot, boiled egg and mayo, marmite, peanut butter, and all the other suggestions are also good - will make a note of those.

Bozza · 02/05/2006 16:16

Our school does not allow peanut butter.

ooh this is great thanks. dd has gone off to school with hummus and pepper sticks

though she is deeply unsure Smile
