Ribs for slow cooking

Which type of ribs do you buy for slow cooking? I was horrified at the cost today in Sainsbury's. I reckon we would have needed to spend about £12 to feed 6, given that they are mostly bone. Where do you buy them from?

If you get the good meaty ones that really isnt expensive. Not all ribs are mostly bones.
